A Helping Hand

A HELPING HAND FOR HEALTHCARE IN THE HILLS

India Sahayoga

Sue Dineno & Kapil Gupta of Synergy Gateway and Jennifer Johnson & Girish Bansal of Silver Linings Healthcare had for long been wanting to support Covid relief efforts in India, particularly its rural areas.

Together, we decided to provide medical and other assistance to communities in the mountains that are facing a crisis of epic proportions during the second wave of Covid-19.

And thus began India Sahayoga, a venture with a single goal in mind- to ā€œSave Livesā€. As a first step, we decided to upgrade the Community Health Centre, Naugaon, to provide medical facilities for Covid-19 patients and shore up medical infrastructure to ensure long term benefits, even after the pandemic.

According to Co-founder Robin Nagar, ā€œNature and the traditional practices of rural India have given us so many resources for our holistic well being. Joining hands for India Sahayoga has given us a welcome opportunity to give something back to rural India, through addressing the needs for healthcare infrastructure.ā€

ā€œThe purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.ā€ ā€“ Ralph Waldo Emerson

The facility will aim at meeting the healthcare needs of the current Covid-19 pandemic as well as the future needs of these communities. The project procured medical equipment and supplies, including a 20KVA
generator, for the Community Health Centre, Naugaon, which were flagged off by the Governor of Uttarakhand, Baby Rani Maurya herself, from Raj Bhawan on June 11.

Within just 10 days, we had raised funds, procured much needed medical equipment and supplies, focusing on rural and remote areas of Uttarkashi.

Finally, the medical supplies and other equipment were handed over and delivered to the beneficiaries. The project could not have been possible with the assistance and recommendation of the Governor, Baby Rani Maurya, and District Magistrate, Uttarkashi, Mayur Dixit.

India Sahayoga is Just a gentle reminder to ourselves that the world needs kindness right now and the best place to start is right at our doorsteps! And this is just the beginning!
