For generations, jaggery, also known as Gur in several regional Indian dialects, has been used as a sweetener. It’s sometimes referred to as a “non-centrifugal sugar”, because it’s not spun during processing to remove the nutritious molasses.
Jaggery contains more nutrients than refined sugar because of its molasses content. Molasses is a nutritious by-product of the sugar making process, which is usually removed when making refined sugar.

How we make our Jaggery powder
First we harvest the organic sugarcane, grown traditionally, free from pesticides and chemical fertilizres. The cane is crushed and is used to extract juice, which is then cooked slowly for hours in an Iron kadai on firewood until it thickens. The product is cooled and shaped into small discs by the producers. We crush the jaggery lumps to make powder, which is more stable in storage and easy for you to use!
How to use our Jaggery Powder
As a sugar alternative, our jaggery powder can be used in any dessert. The deep earthy flavours of both are amplified when jaggery powder is added to coffee, making for a wonderful beverage at any time of day. Nothing warms the heart like hot rotis dripping with molten ghee and jaggery on a cold winter day.
